Community libraries have always been seen as function-oriented spaces. More recently, architectural and interior designs of libraries have evolved into inviting destinations that emphasize comfort, socialization and interaction.
Taking a cue from its larger cousins, interest in libraries has filtered down to the home-sized version. Gone is the 'den' replaced by the 'library' even if there's not a book in sight. It's a room with multiple uses as a private office, media room, intimate entertaining space for a small gathering complete with fully stocked wet bar and the addition of a fireplace with styles that can be installed in any room.
