CREATE A SUNNY DISPOSITION WITH PAINT

One of Pantone's 10 select hues for Spring 2013 is Lemon Zest 13-00756. It's not intense; it's a softer shade of yellow - like the color of the sun on a warm Fall afternoon. I used two interpretations: one in a bath, the other in a bedroom. Translated to paint colors, I used Benjamin Moore’s Goldtone and Suntan Yellow.
GOLDTONE - YOU CAN'T HELP BUT SMILE

The emotional impact of the Goldtone in the bedroom is the essence of creating a “sunny disposition”. No matter what time of day, or what the weather outside, the warm tone of the space elicits feelings of pleasure and contentment.

The bath is an awkward shoe box shape. Using two shades of Lemon Zest interpreted into Benjamin Moore’s Suntan Yellow on two adjacent walls and Goldtone on the opposite adjacent walls as well as on the tray ceiling visually changed the shape of the room to one that’s more appealing. The warm yellow hues complement skin tones, making the owners’ first morning view of themselves reflected in the mirror easier on the eye.

Not only are these colors predicted for Spring 2013, they are perfect expressions of Fall. If you’re going to fall for a color for Fall, these are a great ones with applications for any room in your home.
