For four days in December (5-8), 31 countries will descend
upon the Miami Convention Center and environs for the global attraction known
worldwide as Art Basel – a convergence of three major art shows plus music,
lectures, seminars, and parties that add depth to the extreme breadth of the
event. In addition to Art Basel that
displays works of over 2,000 20th and 21st century
artists, are Art Miami showcasing
emerging artists and Design Miami
featuring the best in international interior design.
The focus of the show remains its 195 established galleries.
The Nova sector offers younger
galleries an opportunity to present selected work of 34 artists. Positions focuses on 16 curated booths featuring a
single artist. The Edition sector
will premier 13 exhibitors. The Public
sector will feature expanded significant offerings. 
In addition, museums and private collections have timed
their exhibitions to coincide with Art Basel. The Bass Museum of Art will offer
guided tours of the Public sector and Bass Museum.
