4 SIMPLE HOME DECORATING IDEAS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The classic red and green holiday residential interior design color palette may seem tired for many of you who take their seasonal home interior design seriously. By all means, keep your red and green theme going, but if you’re looking for something refreshing, experiment by following some of my unique suggestions.

 1) Red and Black or Green and Black used separately as a theme, or daringly together will give your home a very sophisticated look. A plaid, stripe, or color block table cloth, ornaments, decorations, tableware, etc keeps the theme consistent. Highlight with gold or silver to give a singular couture feel. It’s an elegant hatue décor look for evening events.

2) By adding White to the above formulae: Red/White, Green/White, Black/White, your theme is lightened and brightened for a look that works for a daytime brunch or luncheon.

3) I just moved from a house to an apartment, and sacrificed my fireplace. What to do without a mantel? Your living or dining room most likely has a console or sideboard on which you can place a lighted cascading garland. Decorate the top with joyful decorations and candles, and you’ve created a holiday focal point that successfully replaces the fireplace.

4) A wreath on the door extends a welcome even before your guests enter your home. Enhance the welcoming with a door mat. Keep the colors consistent with your interior theme.
