Q-A: My home is FOR SALE. How do I decorate for the holidays?

Keep interior design decorations simple and sophisticated: a wreath on the door, a garland to decorate fireplace or console table, and some great holiday colored accessories (pillows, throws, candles). Resist putting up a tree. It takes up space and makes a room appear smaller. The BIG message is to be understated. You don't want your decorations to distract from the features of the home. 

It's hard to face the fact that once your home is on the market it becomes a commodity. The competition is fierce in this economy, and you have to make sacrifices to get the job done. Follow the advice of your Agent and Designer. Focus instead of how gracious and wonderful your next home will be decorated for the holidays.
