Q. IS IT WORTH SPENDING ON FLOWERS FOR AN OPEN HOUSE?

A. YES! If your budget permits, fresh flowers in every room have tremendous impact, even if it's a small bud vase with a single stem in a bath or bedroom. Flowers express a personal, caring touch. They are inviting, create a sense of warmth, and make a space more appealing.

I select fragrant plants, but avoid lilies (unless I cut off the pistals and stamens) and paper whites because some of us are allergic. Fragrant flowers appeal to our sense of sight and smell. In addition, they can potentially mask unpleasant odors.

If you plan to use flowers for showings over a period of time, orchids are a more long lasting option. Their flowers can last from 4-6 weeks, and require minimal care.
