DON'T JUST MAKE YOUR BED, MAKE IT FABULOUS!

While color is the focus of interior design conversations, white seems to have retreated to the background, a no color canvas that goes unnoticed and unappreciated. Even clients who choose white, it is likely one that’s tinted with a color. Benjamin Moore has a catalog of “whites” that, in my estimation, are not white.
Don’t get me wrong, I love color. You’ll rarely see a white wall in a home I’ve decorated. I don’t object to using color anywhere… with one exception.

My choice for bed linens is forever white. There’s nothing like climbing into bed between crisp sheets with a white patterned coverlet, and sink back into pillows that softly support my head.  White linens can be textured, embroidered, or trimmed in color, but the look and feel of crisp white sheets are sublime. They create an atmosphere of indulgent, personal, and luxurious solitude.

My business of Interior Design, though enjoyable and rewarding, is a painstaking process. Selecting colors, styles, interpreting trends, concerns about deliveries, and making clients happy is grueling and draining. At the end of the day the sensation of climbing into a cozy, welcoming bed and being enveloped with no color is a heavenly sensation.

  2. Robin -- I agree. No matter what decorating changes you make in your bedroom, white linens are going to agree with the colors you choose. I also like white bath towels. Timeless.
