Spring is just a day away. Temperatures
are warming up...are you ready?
There are many colors to lighten,
brighten, and otherwise welcome the warm weather months into your home. Following
are some suggestions that are simple, inexpensive, and can be implemented right
away.
As the “hot” hue of 2013, Emerald is
refreshing and inviting like grasses and palm fronds, yet can be overly bold.
Introduce it sparingly as in a pattern including other colors.
Painting your bedroom yellow ensures
your waking daily with a sunny disposition. Keep it soft and subtle. Intense
yellows can work conversely, irritating to eyes and your mood. If you want to
use a sharp lemon yellow, use it as an accent or add accessories like pillows
or table lamps.
Bring the ocean into your home with
a blue wave for your coffee table or shelf. Blue is a clean, crisp, refreshing
hue, perfect to cool things down on those “H-H-H” (hazy-hot-humid) days. Add flouncy
blue toss pillows for a light and airy feel.

Prefer more neutral or monochromatic
colors? These seagoing pillows add a maritime
look to your yacht (real or imagined).
Ruffled "fun"brellas by
the pool or on the terrace, take shade to the next level. Classy and cool, they
gently waft with the breeze, giving a cooler feel.
Accessorize with mirrors, glass, metallic,
and other reflective items.
Sisal, grass cloth, and jute are
signs of summer. Get area rugs for the living room, library, and bedrooms.
Can't grow flowers outdoors? Bring them inside using fabulous floral fabrics for window panels.
Thanks for the updates Robin, my clients in our current frozen tundra of Minneapolis, MN are hungry for ideas to rid themselves from the cold - snowy white landscape!
