ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN WITH ENCLOSED KITCHEN |
Gutting the original pullman kitchen, opening it into the
living/dining space, exposes 3 walls of floor to ceiling windows, allowing for
an influx of natural light.
CRYSTALS AND ETCHED METAL BLENDS FORMAL AND RELAXED LOOKS |
The ceiling had to be dropped 1.5 inches in order to
reorient the breakfast area fixture that had been placed askew during a prior
renovation.
Cabinet molding, concealing under cabinet lighting, was
eliminated to create a more streamlined look and provide more vertical counter
space. LED tape lighting on dimmers will be invisibly inserted under the new
cabinetry serving as task lighting and night lights.
Shaker style cabinets and drawers will be finished in a wood
tone that ties together the cedar dining room table top, cocktail table base,
and even the top of the console in the entry hall.
The old fluorescent 'cloud' fixture is going hi-tech with a
beautifully sensual piece that will keep you looking up.
The dining area side of the island will be faced with a
"scrunched aluminum" wall covering that ties in the chrome base of
the dining table.
AFTER THE WALLS WERE REMOVED BUT BEFORE WORK BEGAN |
